Important: As of the spring of 2025, MetroAmp panels will be supplied without an adhesive backing.
It has come to our attention that in some cases the adhesive backing will cause the black back layer of the panel to bleed through into the gold layer. This does not happen consistently, but it does happen. The result is areas where the gold appears darker in spots.
Accordingly, we will no longer be shipping panels with adhesive backing.
Our best recommendations at this time are as follows:
Where panel components (pots, jacks, etal) are present, let them hold the panel in place. Front panels should not need any adhesive.
Do not over tighten panel components.
Where adhesive is required use it sparingly, and away from panel components.
Our best recommendation for adhesive at this time is Scotch double-sided tape.

Custom Panels and Color Differences
Why do the panels colors differ? Why do the our custom panels not match panels made by Metro or Sparky?
The answer has to do with the nature of the panels and how they are made.
Front panels:
Most front panel hole locations on most Marshall chassis are fairly standard. So a JMP front panel will fit many different amp chassis. Because these panels can be used in variety of different applications, it makes sense to "silk-screen" them. The panel builder can concentrate on perfecting the lettering, the color of the gold used on the panel (because he chooses the paint), etc. However, it is expensive to make the initial screen to do the printing; and the lettering cannot be moved to accomodate different hole locations.
Back and custom panels:
Back panel hole locations on Marshall chassis vary widely. A particular back panel will only fit the chassis for which it was designed. Silk-screening these panels would be too expensive unless they are going to be made by the hundred. So these panels are laser engraved and cut. The panel designer can perfecting the lettering, but the color of the gold used on the panel cannot be adjusted because the color comes already applied from material manufacturer. The good news is that the lettering, hole sizes, and there locations can easily be changed by the panel designer. Custom lettering and serial numbers are possible on the back panel.
